We have a great crew here at SLF! We are very proud of our team. Send us an email, expressing your interest, along with some kind of resume or summary of your work experience, and two references who can speak to your work ethic.  Listed below are the staff positions we will be recruiting next season along with a job description.

Note: We are looking for individuals who care about our vision to build community and grow healthy, organic food. We value the following qualities in our employees: a hard work ethic, the ability to work efficiently, friendly personality, and an easy-going and flexible attitude.

Qualifications: To thrive in this position, candidate must display a hard work ethic and enjoy working outside.  Being self-directed is a plus. You must be able to perform heavy labor and pick up a box of produce, which may weigh up to 40 pounds.

Hours: 2 days, 6-8 hours per week.

• Wednesday late afternoon and evening, possibly Wednesday mornings, possibly Tuesday late afternoons.
• You are allowed one week of unpaid vacation, but we ask that you give us a 2 week notice so we can arrange someone to take your place.

PACKING ASSISTANT

Responsibilities:

a)      Wash and sanitize bins and packing table each week  — Mondays

b)      Make weekly inventory of vegetable bins and fruit boxes (making substitutions) — Mondays

c)       Harvest minor crops

d)      Wash/prepare crops for packing (sorting on packing table)

e)      Pack vegetable bins and organize in cooler

f)       Prepare fruit shares (pre-bagging)

g)      Pack fruit boxes and organize in cooler

h)      Clean packing shed

i)        Help with Farm Day events

Qualifications: To thrive in this position, candidate must display a gift for organization, efficiency, and attention to detail. You must be able to pick up a box of produce, which may weigh up to 40 pounds.

Hours:  5-6 hours per week.

• Washing bins must take place on Mondays at a time of your choice – about a 90 minute process.
• Packing takes place on Wednesdays from 5-9 PM.
• You are allowed one week of vacation, but we ask that you give us a 2 week notice so we can arrange someone to take your place.
• If you are unable to attend due to illness, we ask you to try and find a substitute.
